China’s National Energy Administration has announced a new push for rural wind power and photovoltaic (PV) development as part of its 2026 rural revitalization agenda.
The authority will upgrade rural power grids, expand charging infrastructure, promote clean heating in northern regions, and scale up renewable energy locally to increase incomes for village collectives and rural residents.
The move aligns with the 2026 No.1 Central Document and underscores China’s commitment to the rural energy transition and green development.
